Geoff Maloon, Founder

Hello, my name is Geoff Maloon and I am the principal owner and grant writer for Shamrock Consulting, a firm I founded in 2001. In that time I have secured over $4,000,000.00 for California fire departments through various federal and state grant programs. I have written grant proposals that were approved for funding by the California Office of Traffic Safety, FEMA (AFG and SAFER), CEDAP, SHSGP and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection through the Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Program.

My success rate with the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is over 65%, more than double the average success rate. I served as a peer review panelist in 2002 and 2003 at the National Fire Academy in Maryland as a representative of the International Association of Firefighters. This experience gave me tremendous insight into the workings of the peer review process and what it takes to author a successful AFG application. My success rate for the SAFER grant program stands at 100% after authoring a successful funding proposal in the inaugural year of the program.

I have written four successfully funded traffic safety improvement project grant applications administered through the California Office of Traffic Safety. I also authored two Volunteer Fire Assistance project applications administered through the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

I also have experience writing grants in the private sector and projects outside the public safety realm and offer a wide range of services. I will author, manage and finalize your grant proposal from the beginning to the end and offer proposal inception and research services.

I am currently employed as a full-time firefighter/paramedic with the Milpitas Fire Department and reside with my family in Santa Cruz, California. I was educated at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.
